Help me keep our water clean

What does a dog have to do with Clean Water?  Welp, poop, lol.  And, that poop can have all kinds of gross bacteria in it.

Stormwater Compliance gave us the details:  One gram of dog poop (think about the size of a raisin) contains millions of bacteria on it. When it rains, the poop remains but the bacteria gets washed into the storm system and out into our local waterways. This can affect the health of aquatic wildlife as well as human health.

Obviously, we want and need our water sources as clean as we can.  Will ya help us keep our water clean?  You can do your part by picking up ya dog poop.

Did ya know that Columbia County has 10 dog friendly parks?  And, 3 of them even have gated dog parks.  Visit the Columbia County Ga Green Guide for a list of all of the dog friendly parks.  If you are at Blanchard Park, look for all 3 of my Pet Station Signs, throughout the park.  Beyond having a gated dog park, they have paved walking trails and several really nice playgrounds.  Go check it out, take a pic, and send it to me or, better yet, TAG ME on Facebook.  I'd love to see it!
